Do it yourself ! (Sorry, temporary closed)

There are more than 100 indigo dye studios allover Japan. Most of them are open to the public to try to dye, so that the beginners are able to experience one of the world’s oldest dye methods easily. Some people could be surprised of the amazing natural indigo fermentation process, some other people may discover joy of “Do it yourself”, and some people could be impressed by the beauty of patterns and colors.

Here in New York City, we provide same service by appointment at Hori’s Japan Blue dye studio in Elmhurst, Queens.

___Transportation : Subway from Manhattan, get off Grand Avenue station on R or V line.
___Open hours : 11am to 7pm, Monday through Friday
___Number of people to attend : 1 to 2 people for 1 class, it depends on the indigo vat condition.

Short sleeve T-shirt for $45, and long sleeve T-shirt for $55. Dye and Shibori process will take 3 to 4 hours.
